Hector Castellanos Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2025.
Hector Castellanos Jr., 58, of Addison, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, following complications from a stroke.

Born in Dallas on October 12, 1966, Hector entered the world with a spirit enriched by music, humor, and the meaningful relationships he cultivated throughout his life. For over two decades, he worked as a beloved disc jockey and karaoke host, sharing his passion for music with countless others. His legacy lives on in the songs he cherished and the many lives he touched through his compassionate presence.

Hector found happiness in life's simple pleasures-spending time with friends and family, attending concerts, and capturing moments behind the camera. He had a magnetic warmth, a sharp wit, and a resilient spirit that brought light even in the darkest times.

He is survived by his daughter, Mallory Rosenberg; her husband, Jonathan; and their beloved four-legged companion, Niles. He is also survived by his brother, Alex; former spouse, Marla Castellanos; and a loving extended family of cherished relatives. Hector was preceded in death by his parents, Hector Castellanos Sr. and Virginia Martinez.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the neurotrauma doctors and nurses at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas for their compassionate care. They would also like to thank the Southwest Transplant Alliance for supporting Hector's wishes to help save the lives of others through organ donation.

A special thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care of Farmers Branch.

If you feel inclined, please consider a donation in Hector's name to Insulin for Life USA at: https://iflusa.org
