Cristina Figueras Obituary
FIGUERAS
LAKELAND - Cristina Figueras was born to Mariana Batista and Lucilo Llamas in La Maya, Cuba June 26, 1919 and died in Orlando, Florida February 20, 2016 at the age of 96.
Cristina and her husband David Figueras emigrated from Cuba in 1962 and settled in Lakeland, Florida. Our father David preceded our mother Cristina in death in 2006.
Cristina was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, very much loved by her husband and children. She was always very proud of learning English 'by herself,' as she often said.
Cristina is survived by four children, David E. Figueras, Lowell, FL, Maria C. Figueras, Orlando, FL, Davos L. Figueras, Mexico and Mabelle A. Artner of Wake Forest, N.C. Cristina is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Anthony M. Figueras, Bremerton, WA, Roberto D. Figueras, Bremerton, WA, Carlos X. Figueras, Bremerton, WA, Derrick A. Madden, Quad City, IA, Andrea R. Soliz, NY, NY, and Cristina M. Soliz of Wake Forest, N.C.
Cristina is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Anthony M. Figueras, Jr., Olivia M. Figueras, Christopher L. Figueras, Bremerton, WA, Roberto D. Figueras, Jr., Malia G. Figueras, Poulsbo, WA, Natalia A. Figueras, Tacoma, WA, Camden G. Dorfield, Wake Forest, N.C., Damia C. Madden, AZ, Deandria L. Madden, AZ and Devaun C. Madden, Quad City, IA.
Cristina loved her family and socializing with friends, especially to celebrate birthdays and special occasions, as well as cooking great casseroles and improvising with recipes in the kitchen and always enjoying peoples' company, love and affection.
Our mother Cristina will be buried next to our father David at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens after a memorial service to take place March 5, 2015.
Mom you will be greatly missed!

I will always have a special place in my heart for Christina. When she would ride with me to meeting it was a highlight of my week and I loved my visits with her at the nursing home after meeting. She loved her family and I enjoyed her stories! Rest in peace, sweet lady!
