Helen Ursula Herring

HERRING, Helen Ursula Helen Ursula Campbell Herring, Born April 29, 1917. Died January 22, 2017. Her husband Horace Felton Herring, sons Doyle Wayne Herring, Brett Arlen Herring, Horace Dwain Herring and daughter-in-law Barbara Herring preceded her in death. She leaves a daughter, Joyce Anne Herring Feagin, and her son-in-law Jackie Feagin; and daughter-in-law, Helen Herring. 9 Grandchildren: Larry Douglas Feagin, granddaughter-in-law Tracy Feagin; Jerry Lon Feagin, granddaughter-in-law Kerri Feagin, Garry Don Feagin, Kerry Bruce Feagin, granddaughter-in-law Myra Feagin; Doyle Wayne Herring Jr., granddaughter-in-law Martha Herring, Lorri Lu Herring, Amy Herring Griswold, grandson-in-law Bobby Griswold, Angela Herring, and Benjamin Herring. 13 Great grandchildren: Brandon Feagin, Connor Feagin, Laura Feagin, Chelsea Feagin, Travis Nichols, great granddaughter-in-law; Mary Nichols, heather Feagin Wood, great grandson in law, Jeremiah Wood, Amanda Vandeventer, great grandson-in-law, Donald Vandeventer, Elizabeth Legget, great grandson-in-law Chris Legget, Taylor Griswold, Jarod Griswold, Tricity Herring, Brett Herring, and Maddox Herring. 8 great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Nichols, Parker Morgan, Aurora Morgan, Jacob Wood, Dylan Vandeventer, Katherine Vandeventer, Cooper Leggett, and Landrie Legget. Nephew, preston Campbell and his wife, Tommie Jo Cambell, grand nephew, Danny Campbell. Helen was a stay at home Mom but was never still. She was always doing crafts which lead to oil painting, doll making and she loved flowers. She was involved with African Violets and competitions in the African Violet Society. In 1959, she was awarded a sterling bowl presented by Minnie Marcus, of Neiman-Marcus fame, and inscribed "Best Plant in Show." She made porcelain dolls with a great collection of molds to make all kinds of dolls. The clothing for all the dolls was made by her. Tiny brushes were used to paint eyelashes on the dolls until her sight started failing. All the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have cherished dolls made by her. She was a great lady and will be missed by all. Visitation services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 3-6PM at Williams Funeral Directors. Services will be held the following day on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 1:00PM at Williams Memorial Chapel, with graveside services following at Restland Memorial Park.
