McHENRY - Helen V. Kot, 89, of McHenry, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at her home.
She was born June 19, 1915, in Chicago, to John and Frieda (Johnson) Anderson. On June 20, 1936, she married Henry C. Kot in Chicago.
She was born and raised in Chicago and was a graduate of Austin High School.
In 1973, she moved to Ingleside and in 1985 to McHenry. She was employed for 10 years with Sears working in catalog sales.
She was a very active member of Shepherd of the Hills Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, and was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Kenneth H. (Cherry) Kot of Harvard, Ronald J. Kot of McHenry and Barbara J. (William) Lundberg of St. Charles; four grandchildren, Lynn B. Kot of Tucson, Ariz., Jon E. (Joyce) Lundberg of Doylestown, Pa., Kari E. (Jeff) Carpenter of Wellington, Ohio, Brian M. (Melissa) Lundberg of Elburn; eight great-grandchildren, Gloria, Isabel, Eric, Jacob, Grace, Millie Rose, Blythe and Elyse; a sister, Edna L. (Edward) Arendt of Naples, Fla.; and a niece, Carol (David) Sheridan of Park Forest.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 26, 1995; her parents; and a brother, John R. Anderson in August 1997.
Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Saturday, Jan. 15, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry.
Inurnment in Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago will be private.
Memorials to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry, IL 60050 or Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL 60010 would be appreciated by the family.
