Helen E. Paradowski

Helen Edna Paradowski was born Helen Edna Seaman in Chicago, Illinois on November 11, 1933. She died Monday June 9, 2014. In 1952 she married Anthony John Paradowski and they have lived in National City since 1957. Helen dedicated her life to volunteering and helping the youth and disadvantaged. As a young girl she became a Camp Fire Girl, an organization she continued being a part of her entire life as a leader and supporter in the Alumni Association. Helen also spent many years as part of the Starlight Center Auxiliary to help and support the mentally challenged community. For over 30 years Helen was a member of the Maytime Band Review Committee, taking on many rolls including Event Chairperson. She was very active in the Baton Twirling community to support her first born child Mary Ann Paradowski (1954) who she lost to cancer in 1973. Helen was also very active in the swimming community in support of her second born child, Thomas J Paradowski (1956). Helen is survived by her husband Tony, son Tom, daughter-in-law Regina and her grandchildren Marianne and Christie. The visitation for Helen will be at Glen Abbey on Monday June 16, 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a graveside committal service on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
