Helen Pozorski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2023.

On Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, Helen Mary Pozorski passed away peacefully at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She spent her last day surrounded by the ones she loved the most; her husband Curt, daughters Amanda and Maggie, and her granddaughter Faith.

Helen was born in 1951, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to John and Clara Cisler. She graduated from Lincoln High school in 1969. In 1975, Helen’s father John introduced Helen to Curt Pozorski at the Eagles Club in Manitowoc. Helen and Curt went on to have two children, Amanda and Maggie.

Helen worked at ABC Grocery Store and IGA Food County for many years. She returned to college in her mid 40’s and got her associates degree in accounting while in school at Lakeshore Technical College. While working on her degree she started working at Bemis Manufacturing. Helen’s mother-in-law, Hazel Pozorski lived with her family. Helen selflessly cared for Hazel in her final years of life.

In 2002, Helen retired and spent her time helping to raise her granddaughter, Faith. Helen spent a lot of her free time pampering her English Bulldogs Lilly, Petunia and Rosie. When her great granddaughter Paisley was born in 2019, Helen got great enjoyment from spending time with her. Paisley helped fill the last years of Helen’s life with pure happiness. In 2006, Helen and her husband Curt purchased a beautiful home in Luxemburg, WI where they lovingly spent their last years together.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents John and Clara Cisler, and all her siblings, Emil Cisler, Mike Cisler and Lucile Slovensky, as well as her in-laws, Alois and Hazel Pozorski.

She is survived by her husband Curt Pozorski, daughter Amanda Pozorski, daughter Maggie Pozorski and her son-in-law Shawn Chaffin, granddaughters Faith Alexander and Ember Chaffin, great granddaughter Paisley Neal, sisters-in-law Diane Cisler and Sue Cisler, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Marlene Johnson, her dearly loved nieces and nephews, Jon Cisler, Valerie Cisler, Ron Cisler and his wife Lisa Cisler, Rick Cisler and his wife Lori Cisler, Brad Johnson and his wife Shelly Johnson, Natalie Johnson and her husband Dave Simonsmeier, as well as Helen’s long time best friend Connie Geiger.

Helen absolutely loved to bring the family together with her cooking. She was a fantastic baker and looked forward to making Christmas cookies every year.  But most of all, the way the family would gather for her Thanksgiving meal is a tradition that will be missed by all that ever sat at the table with her. Helen will always be remembered for her extremely strong will and dedication to her family. She spent her whole life making sure to take care of everyone.

Helen’s family has decided not to hold any ceremonies at this time.  A celebration of life is being planned for later this year and family will be notified as plans are made.

McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, is assisting the family.
