Helen Rhorer Hill Rawlins

HELEN RHORER HILL RAWLINS died on January 12, 2004. Born in Gulfport, Mississippi, she was preceded in death by her husband James Edwin Hill in 1960 and her husband Roderick Alexis Rawlins in 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Elizabeth and her husband, I. H. Kempner III; her son, James Edwin Hill, Jr. and his partner, Kelle S. O'NeaI; her son, Richard Rhorer Hill and his wife, Susan; her son, Stuart Gibson Hill and his wife, Mary; her granddaughters: Elizabeth Kempner McFarland and her husband, Grant; Leila Kempner and her husband, James McWilliams; and Elizabeth Carter Hill; and four great-grandchildren, Ellen Amelia McFarland, Sarah Elizabeth McFarland, Timothy John McFarland and Owen Kempner McWilliams. She is also survived by her step-daughters Martha Rawlins and Myrtie Rawlins Rice. Her family would like to thank her caregivers, Maxine Smith, Sheila Abosi, Rita Farley and Leleith McKenzie for all that they did for her comfort. There will be a visitation with her family at 10 AM on Monday, January 19, 2004 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors, 3320 Kirby Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Contemporary Arts Museum, 5216 Montrose Blvd., Houston, TX. 77006, or to the charity of your choice.
