Helen Donnell Reed, 90 of Dallas, died on January 17, 2013. She was born October 27, 1922 in in DeLeon, Texas to Vera and George Donnell. She was reared in Mexia. A member of the National Honor Society, she graduated Valedictorian from Mexia High School in 1940. Helen attended the University of Texas from 1940 to 1942 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, Tau Delta Alpha honorary pre-medical society, and an honorary literary society. On January 20, 1943 she married John (Jack) C. Reed. They lived in various locations in the United States and Europe. After his retirement from Texas Instruments in 1990 they settled in Dallas and were married almost 70 years. After retiring as a bookkeeper for various firms, she worked in the service department at the Dallas Market Center for several years. She was an active member of the Richardson Women's Club, loved playing bridge and enjoyed her book clubs. Helen was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Walldeen Laux. Surviving is her husband John (Jack), daughter Susan Cash Reed, nephews Don Laux, David Wright, John Wright and their families.
