Helen Riggs Obituary
Helen Lenise Riggs, loving mother and devoted wife, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2013. Born and raised in Jackson, TN, Helen worked as a registered nurse at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in the Surgical ICU and was also an instructor with the Tennessee Technology Center LPN Nursing Program in Parsons, TN.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, David Riggs; two daughters, Jala Galloway (Jason) and Bethany Anthony (Matthew); mother and father, Margie and L'Wick Johnson; sisters, Katherine Coats (Eric) and Karen Kiddie; niece and nephew, Jennifer Coats Covellis (Chris) and Cain Turner (Amanda).
Visitation with the family is on Monday February 11, 2013 from 11 a.m. til 1 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Praying for your family! Helen made nursing school and clinicals fun with her mega smile and laugh. I hope there is some comfort in knowing how many lives she touched and the joy she brought those around her. Rest in God's arms my friend.

To Helen's family... Helen and I were very close in junior high and friends through high school. I remember hours of laughing, talking, riding bikes, and just hanging out. We were in band together too. I send you my deepest sympathies because I know you shared many more good memories than me. I kept up with her on facebook and her life seemed complete. I am so sad for all of our loss but especially her family's. Heaven gained a beautiful, caring, thoughtful, compassionate angel. Rest in the loving arms of God sweet friend.

I met Helen during her teaching the LPN students at DCGH, we also had a few classes together at UT Martin. She was always friendly and smiling. She will be missed by many. Prayers for her family

Helen was such a great person.....I still remember her in band,she could play anything just by hearing it once,she had braces and wore braids.She was one of those people you meet once in a life time and you just cant forget her.I will keep your family in my prayers and I pray that God gives each of you the strength to cope with the days to come.I only had one picture this is our soft ball team 'The Owls'

May God comfort all of your family thru this tragedy. Mrs Helen was such a wonderful person and she has touched many lives! My family reminded me that she came to Memphis and sat with us when I was 10yrs old after almost losing my life in a car accident.
