Helen Rizzi Obituary

Helen (Honey) Rizzi passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. She was born to parents Stojan and Dorothy (Glumac) Griak on February 1, 1931. She attended both Stowe and Morgan Park Schools. Helen worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for 25 years and enjoyed playing softball and volleyball as an amateur athlete for 4 decades.

Helen was preceded in death by her son Ray Dennis, husband Ray, brother Ted Griak, half-sister Kathy Burns, and sister Donna Bewley.

Surviving are daughter Yvonne (Voni) Rizzi-Belich (Craig Kolari), two grandchildren Danielle Willis and Steven Rizzi (Portland Oregon), three great-grandchildren, a very special niece Cami Wolk, and sister-in-law Carol Griak

Special thanks to Hospice (KFT) and Solvay

Per Helen's wishes, there will be no service. A family gathering with good food, laughter, and "talk story" to be held at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to the GND REC, being the very area where Helen first learned the "love of the game!"

Years ago, met that kind and funny Gary lady and we shared many years of friendship, volunteering together and I loved her stories! She was a blessing in the western end of town and everywhere she went....Her music, stories, joy and laughter will remain in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. RIP dear lady, you were truly a classic! Thinking of Vonnie and all her family.
