Helen Stout Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 31, 2025.
Helen Esther Stout, 70, passed away on March 29, 2025, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Born on February 6, 1955, in Greeley, Colorado, Helen lived a life rooted in dedication, compassion, and a deep love for animals and the outdoors.

Helen's passion for working with animals was evident to all who knew her. She found great joy in training and caring for her beloved horses-Banner, Foof, and Willow-as well as her cherished dogs-Noel, Ruff, and Shorty. Her summers were often spent tending to her flowers and plants, nurturing them with the same care she gave to every living thing around her.

On July 2, 2019, Helen married Eric, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Their bond was one of mutual respect and devotion. Helen also leaves behind her daughter Jonelle and her family-Alex, Raquel, Jando, and Izzy-whom she embraced wholeheartedly as her own. Her cousins Lilian and Dick held a special place in her heart and were a meaningful part of her life.

Professionally, Helen built lasting friendships through her work at Kodak and Vestas. She was known among colleagues not only for her strong work ethic but also for the warmth she brought into every interaction. Her involvement in western riding competitions-particularly Reining-was a source of pride and accomplishment. She often spoke fondly of competing at the National Western Stock Show in Denver as well as numerous other events throughout Colorado. Her knowledge of the sport and dedication to excellence earned her respect within the equestrian community.

Helen's giving nature touched many lives. Whether through friendship or mentorship, she offered kindness freely and generously. One of Helen's friends Karl helped her through thick and thin and through many of life's turmoils. Her legacy is carried forward by those who knew her best-family members who loved her deeply and friends who admired her strength and spirit.

Helen will be missed by many.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Helen has passed into the eternal arms of Jesus.

Helen had two alarm clocks that would wake her up in the morning and keep her busy all day. Their names are Tucker and Bella. They would also snuggle in with Helen on a cold winters day. Tucker, Bella and myself all miss you Helen. We love you.

One of Helen's past times was to take care of her flowers. Here is Helen's raised flower beds with a rainbow to boot in the background. I am going to try to do some flowers like she did. I miss working in the backyard with you. I love you

Helen was our friend for 40+ yrs. and will be so missed....we loved her and cherished our friendship. Those who loved her are still in shock, she goes in for hip surgery, never wakes up and dies 10 days after surgery! Searching for answers of this mystery and grieving.

What can a person say, Helen was one of my best friends. She loved life. She worked hard, played hard and enjoyed life to the max. She had her ups and downs later in her life, but then her and Eric got together. I was happy for her because she didn't know how she would survive her retirement golden years. Now she not only had Willow (the Horse) but Eric to enjoy life with. It will be hard driving past there home when I go to town thinking she is gone. Life is not fair to us sometimes! Ride on, Helen!
