Helen VLAHOS Obituary
April 1, 1931 – December 31, 2015
Helen (Nitsa) Vlahos, the pride of her family, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Helen is lovingly remembered by her children, Kathy Vlahos-Makridis, Stam James Vlahos, Yolanda Tkachyk; 3 grandchildren, Denise (Daniel) Collins, Ashley Tkachyk, Constantine Vlahos; her 2 precious great- grandchildren, Jake and Ayla Collins; sons-in-law, Costas Makridis and Doug Tkachyk; as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada, Greece and around the world. Nitsa was predeceased by her loving husband, Gus Vlahos in January 2013. Bon Voyage on your final journey, our beloved (Kalo taxidi aqapimeni mas). A Prayer Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Tamarac Crescent SW, Calgary, AB on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation AB & NWT Chapters, 2323 – 32 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 6Z3. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.myalternatives.ca.

Jim, Yolanda and Kathy - Nancy and I send our love and condolences to you and your families for the loss of your wonderful Mom, Helen. My memories of those years at the agency are some of the best. Both of your parents were so loving and generous to us that we felt like family. I will never forget them and they will stay in our hearts forever.
