LYNN — Helen Louise (Goodwin) Walfield, of Lynn, died Friday morning, Feb. 19, 2010 at the Emeritus at Cherry Hill Nursing Care Center in Danvers after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Vernon Walfield. She was born in Gloucester, the daughter of the late Dexter and Florence (Ross) Goodwin and had been a life long resident of Lynn. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School in 1947 and in 1949 from the Comptometer School of Boston.
She had been as a bookkeeper for many years at the General Electric Company Riverworks Plant in Lynn prior to her retirement.
Helen enjoyed knitting, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She also liked to dance and loved music and singing.
She is survived by a brother, Paul D. Goodwin of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Goodwin and Florence Flynn.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
