Although I'd only known Helen for a few years, she quickly became a friend. Her kindness and strength was greatly appreciated. I'll be walking in the Walk to End All Women's Cancers this year, and will carry Helen's courage in my heart. My thoughts are with you all.

I feel so privileged to have met Helen and Terry and spend a little time with them on a few occasions when they came to visit Miranda and Matt at Bethany. I remember taking them on a "town tour of the murals", doing a yard sale with them and having a great chat at Miranda's graduation. They sure were proud of her. A wonderful family - loved by so many. Helen will be missed -looking forward to meeting up with her in heaven!
Love all of you very much!

Blessings,

Miranda, Matt and Family,

We were saddened to hear of your Mum’s passing. It’s wonderful that you were able to visit with her a couple of times just recently. The days ahead will be transitional for each of you. Even at a time of unexpected sadness, it’s good to know that God’s peace is perfect and will bring comfort to your hearts.

Your Mum was God’s special gift to you. May beautiful memories bless your life and bring you much comfort.

We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

God bless!

Garrett, Terry and the entire Watkiss family,

We were so saddened to learn of Helen’s passing. She was a wonderful woman who we both feel very blessed to have had the pleasure to work with. We remember fondly the tremendous impact she had on the cadets, staff and parents of 742. Whether it was her kind words and personal experiences that reassured nervous parents dropping off their new recruits for the first time, or how she managed to find simple, logical, and effective solutions amongst the chaos of the Admin department, or her patience and dedication while teaching one of us how she managed to make it all look so effortless. Helen was someone who always had the time to listen to what was going on in our lives, and to offer kind words of wisdom, support, and encouragement. She was great friend who impacted our lives in the most positive way, and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Helen will be missed. She is one of my oldest friends. From the time we lived on the same street on Tweedsmuir to her visit here with me in Nova Scotia. She was always there for me. Even though we lived so far apart for a lot of our time, I knew she was at the end of the phone line for me. And I think I was there for her too. God Bless.

Terry and Family~It is with heavy hearts that we hear of the loss of Helene. She was an amazing lady who loved her family so dearly. That love showed every time she spoke of all of you. She was a great support to my dad and mom when he was battling his cancer. When I spoke with him after your visits or phone calls he would often tell me of a "tip" Helene had shared to make things a bit easier. Over the years my parents shared so many great time with you both! My mom will miss Helene very much but will always be so grateful that God brought her into their lives!

Dear Pastor Miranda & Matthew,
The poem, " Footprints in the sand" speak of a time when God no longer walks with us but actually carries us in His arms. This is one of those times. It is comforting to know Jesus went to prepare a place for each one of us , as a result, for those who believe in Him, life is not destroyed, it is transformed and when their earthly journey ends, their heavenly home awaits them. What joy this brings. Death can never take away the treasured memories which will live deep within your heart..forever.You are in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult days and in the time of adjustment which will follow.
God Bless you both.

What a wonderful picture of Helen, always smiling and lifting the spirits of all who were near her. We have missed her so much at our Churchill Teddy Bear Club. always hoping that she would come in with her beautiful smile. Speaking for myself, I thank her and Terry for their caring and spiritual help when my son died in January, same age as Helen. I will cherish her memory forwver. My heart goes out to you, Terry and your family.
God Bless.

Dear Miranda & Matt:

We were saddened to learn of your mother’s illness and then of her passing. You and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.  No one knows just how you feel but we can say with certainty that it helps to know that others do care when we are called upon to go through these troubled waters.

It is our sincere wish that each new day brings you and your family a measure of renewed strength and the assurance that God continues to hold you in his care.  May the corner of your heart where your mother will forever remain bring you a sense of quiet reflection and a deep settled peace.

Sincerely,
Robin & Gail Rickard
