Katy, Texas - Helen Elizabeth Yancy passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the age of 87 in Katy Texas surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on January 9, 1929 in Dodge City Kansas to H. B. and Bess Rose Combs. The family moved to South Texas the same year. She was a long time resident of Edinburg Texas. She worked for the County and Municipal Employees Credit Union many years as the manager. She also spent many wonderful years at her beautiful property on Delta Lake where she was always tending to her yard and proudly won "yard of the month" numerous times.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bill Yancy in 1997, her parents, Bess Rose and H.B. Combs, and her sister, Jacqueline Thompson Puryear.

She is survived by her two sons, Bob Yancy and his wife Debbie of New Caney, and Greg Yancy and his wife Beth of Katy. 3 grandsons, Chris Yancy and his wife Shannon of Katy Texas, Kevin Yancy and his wife Tiffany of Luling Texas, and Robbie Yancy and his wife Michelle of Tomball Texas. She had 3 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Gauge, and Kimber Yancy. She was affectionately known as HeyHey to her grandchildren and all of their friends.

A private ceremony will be held at Delta Lake. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the American Diabetes Association. Helen had several close family members battling this disease.
