Helen ZOURDOUMIS

ZOURDOUMIS, Helen (nee Testorides) Peacefully in hospital in Vancouver, B.C. on Friday, September 10, 2004 at age 82. Born in Yugoslavia, Helen and family came to Canada from Athens in 1956 and made Ottawa their home. Widow of Constantine, predeceased by her beloved son Leo, brother Alexander and sister Olga. Survived by loving daughter Anita Seymour (Garth). Grandchildren Sarah and Aesop Zourdoumis. Nieces and nephews Tino, Meri, Mina, Slavka and their children. Wonderful landlord to countless students and families for over 30 years, she devoted herself to helping others. She gave her spare time to volunteer work at Riverside Hospital, Ottawa Public Library, Red Cross, Crohn's and countless church bazaars and fundraisers. Walking for CHEO was her favorite. Friends may call at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 235 Kent Street on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Trisagion prayer Wednesday 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy Thursday 11 a.m. at "Kimissis Tis Theotokou" Greek Orthodox Church, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. For those wishing, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated. "Helen will not be forgotten."
