Helene Frishman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 11, 2024.
Helene Frishman, age 89, passed away on July 8, 2024, surrounded by family. Helene was born in Chicago on March 4, 1935, to Minna and Max Bernstein. She was raised in Chicago, lived in Skokie for a brief time and then in Northbrook for the majority of her life. Helene was a devoted mother and gave all of herself so her children could enjoy the best that life has to offer. She spoke of her great pride in her children, David (Suzanne), Holly (Fred) and Steven (Jennifer) and their accomplishments. Helene was blessed with nine grandchildren; Renee, Diana, Jason, Luke, Samantha, Max, Jacob, Will and Sam and two great-grandsons; Dylan and Benny. She loved to facetime with "the boys" and watch them grow. Helene enjoyed nature, gardening and cooking and was known amongst her friends for her dill pickles. She loved spending time with family and friends going to the theatre, visiting museums and playing Mahj Jong. Helene volunteered for many years in the gift shops at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and Northbrook Library. Most people remember Helene as fiercely independent, strong-willed, intelligent and generous. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the people at Northbrook Place who cared for Helene with respect. Services were Private. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, https://www.alz.org/. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals - Buffalo Grove Chapel, 847.229.8822, www.cjfinfo.com
