Henry Paredez Escalante, 81 years old, of Raceland, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 12, surrounded by his family. He was beloved husband of Betty Lou Fournier; father of Carmelita Noyola (Ramon); Consuelo Madere (Michael); Enrique Escalante (Tracey); Teresita McNabb (Timothy); Armondo Escalante (Holly); and Maria Bovill (Shawn).

He was also survived by 12 grandchildren (Domaso, Isiabella and Carolina Noyola; Dustin, Taylor, Alejandro and Mia (deceased) Escalante; Nikolas and Felicia Melancon; Raven McNabb; Rosa, Chelbie and Cheyenne Escalante); and 1 great grandchild (Brooke Escalante).

Henry was born and raised in Rillito, Arizona and was a resident of Raceland, Louisiana for the past 58 years. He was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland. He was an avid reader and loved spending time in his yard. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland, Louisiana on Tuesday, March 15th. Visitation for family and friends will start at 10:00 am with a memorial mass to follow at 11:00 am.

Just found out about Mr. Henry's passing. Even though it's been a long time since I have seen you all, I have very fond memories of time spent with all of you at your house and my year at LSU. So sorry for your loss. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Knew this gentleman most of my adult life and what a gentleman he was. Always so kind and polite. Raised a beautiful family, whom I am sure, will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Mr. HENRY.
