Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul. We love Annapolis Avenue church of Christ and spent some of our happiest years there. Our children would agree. They did not want to move across the river but of course now we all miss Florence and Sheffield. The Evans family are a great part of our precious memories in both cities. God bless you.

Dear Evans family,
I'm so sorry I no longer live in town so I could attend your dad's service. He was a very special man and I feel honored to have known him. He and I had some wonderful talks when he lived at Morningside and I worked there. Your entire family is in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Cheryl McCorkle

I am so thankful that Henry and Iva Evans came into my life over 50 years ago. I was a recipient of their goodness and love. Cousin Henry was the best person in every way. His long life is evidence of his goodness. Every time he prayed he was truly in touch with Heaven. I love all of the Evans family and pray for strength for each of you during this sad time.

Jim, Gary and famlies: I met Mr. and Mrs. Evans when they resided at Morningside next door to my Mom's apartment. Mr. Evans soon remembered that he and my dad had lived in the same boarding house when they first began working at TVA many, many years ago. Mr. Evans was a true Southern Gentleman, and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Gary & Jim,
My prayers are with y'all. We were a very close neighborhood growing up. All of our parents were like our own. I remember all the good times we had at the old Eastside building and the time our parents spent cooking and taking us places as a group of boys.
Your dad always presented himself as the Christian man he was and God allowed him to live longer than any of our parents.
Just writing this I have paused several times thinking of the good times we had on 18th Av, 19th Av, and 33rd St. What great parents you had.
I will keep you in my prayers over the next few days.

Jim and Gary and families,
Your family will be in our prayers. Henry and Iva were dear friends of our family for many years in Sheffield. Henry was very special to us and will be dearly missed. He was a blessing to so many and God granted him many years to influence others for good.
Love, Ron and Janice Wiley, Marietta, GA

Jim and family,
Having worked with Henry at TVA for nearly 30 years, I consider him a true friend. I know that he will be missed.
May God give you the peace and comfort that can only come from Him. My prayers are with you.

Mr. Evans was always known as Mr. Henry to me. He and Iva were our neighbors for more than 40 years. We visited and loved them dearly. We had so many sweet stories that we shared. Outside of being a true friend, one thing that will always stick with me is the memory of Mr. Henry working and sharing his garden. He loved his garden and sharing with those that he called friends. I'll miss you Mr.H. We love you~ Carol White Cooney & Barbara White
