Family-Placed Obituary

LAWSON, Henry C. age 79, of West Carrollton passed away peacefully Monday, March 20, 2006, at Walnut Creek Nursing Center after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Henry leaves his loving wife Faye – with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage on February 4 – and his devoted daughter Rebekah of Miamisburg to cherish a lifetime of treasured memories. Also surviving are his brother F.M. of Tennessee and nieces and nephews. He was welcomed by his son, Charles, who passed in 1987, his parents, Mary and Henry and five brothers and sisters. Henry was born in Ravenscroft, Tennessee March 24, 1926, and came to Dayton in 1944 to work for GM from which he retired in 1984. He served honorably in the Navy and enjoyed telling stories of being down on the ship "in the Pacific." He also leaves his dear and supportive friends, Jim and Betty Barker of Kettering. Henry enjoyed sharing his birth date and year with Jim and their many birthday celebrations. Henry loved his family, his home; and, until recent years, enjoyed the relaxation of golf with his buddies. He was the most easy-going, loving, and witty husband, father and friend and will be missed forever. Faye and Becky would like to thank the supportive, knowledgeable and kind staffs of Hospice of Dayton and Walnut Creek. Nurses Becky, Orla and Sylvia gave them all such loving care, helped Henry move on and ease the pain of his terrible loss. Services and a Tribute of Henry's Life will be held 12:00 noon Friday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. by Jim Barker. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. To honor Henry's memory, friends may make a charitable gift to Hospice of Dayton or the charity of their choice. On-line condolences may be sent to www.bakerhazelsnider.com.

Becky and Mrs. Lawson,

There are no words that adequately convey my sorrow for your loss. Take comfort from Mr. Lawson leaving this life knowing he was loved by two very special ladies, and there is no greater gift either of you could've given him.
