Henry A. Miller

Henry A. Miller, age 76, of New Milford, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 17, 2023 with his loving wife of 55 years by his side. He was born September 19, 1946 in New Milford and spent most of his life there.

Henry joined the US Navy shortly after school where he was first stationed in South Carolina and met his soulmate Nancy and later served in Vietnam. When he completed his Navy service he returned home to New Milford where he later retired from the New Milford Highway Department and the O&G New Milford Asphalt Plant. As a lifetime member of the local V.F.W. Henry volunteered frequently to cook spaghetti dinners and marched in many local parades. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends especially his most treasured wife. "Hank's" favorite after-work hobbies included fishing, bowling, playing softball, and watching the Cowboys. Later in life he spent his time surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren while he gardened, grilled and refurbished furniture.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Stevens) Miller, his 3 children; Greg Miller of New Milford, Nia Dubret (Michael) of New Milford, Wade Miller (Lisa) of Marietta, Ohio and daughter-in-law Kristi Miller of Bay City, Texas; his grandchildren Cindy Jurgens (Christopher), Jesse Purdy, Hannah Westfall (Levi), Abby Miller, Brittany Miller, Aubry Miller, Franklin Miller Jr., Grace Miller and 2 beautiful great-grandchildren Scarlett "Sunshine" and Henry Jurgens. Henry Miller was predeceased by his son Franklin Miller Sr. and grandson Justin Purdy.

Services will be held July 1, 2023 at the V.F.W. 11 Avery Road New Milford, CT 06776. Military service will begin at 12pm followed by a celebration of life until 4pm. Please join us in honoring and remembering our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
