Henry L Rudio

August 8, 1937 - June 15, 2024

In loving memory of a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, we celebrate the life of a remarkable man. He was a beacon of kindness, strength, resilience, and love, whose legacy will continue to inspire us.

Born into a humble background, he attended South Glens Falls High school, then Pennsylvania State University going on to become a respected Certified Public Accountant in the finance industry. His work ethic, and dedication to his profession and community was admired by all who knew him.

He was a loving husband to his high school sweetheart, and wife of 66 years, Cora Sue. Their love was a testament to their commitment and devotion to each other. Henry and the family spent most of their years in Massachusetts before following family to South Carolina in retirement. In Fort Mill, SC Henry and Cora Sue were privileged to make lasting friends that care for them deeply.

Henry's life was filled with family bonds. The middle child of three boys, his early life was busy with sports, dances and church fellowship. He was predeceased by his brothers Carl and Ronald.

As a father of five, he was a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Despite the tragic loss of his two sons, Scott and David, at a young age he remained steadfast, providing unwavering support and love to Cora Sue and their daughters Linda, Lisa and Lori Ann.

His memoirs, a testament to his life, are filled with tales of friendships, travels, and precious family moments. He was a man who valued relationships above all else, and his life was enriched by the bonds he formed with those around him.

His love for travel took him to many places. From time with his young family exploring the history and scenery around Boston, MA to cross-country trips in the US and Canada, and a grand tour across Europe with his family in 1986. In later life he formed a relationship with distant relatives from Sarre Union, France discovered during his extensive genealogy work. Henry and family enjoyed travels with the French Rudios around Europe and in the US. His adventures also led him to the breathtaking landscapes of Jasper and Banff National Parks and Lake Louise in Alberta. His memoirs are filled with vivid descriptions of these travels, reflecting his love for exploration and adventure.

He was a doting grandfather, always ready with a story or a word of advice. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he took immense pleasure in their achievements and growth - and sports.

His life was a life well lived, and he would have told you he'd been very lucky. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A memorial service to celebrate Henry's life will be held at a later date.

Dad/Papa, your spirit, strength, and love for us will forever be etched in our hearts.

Heney was a classmate of mine in South Glens Falls, NY. He was always well liked, smart, athletic and a pleasure to have as a friend. I had not seen Hank since our last class reunion, but all those years later he was a still the young man from the class of 1955. He will be missed......my prayers to his family.
