HENRY SAND Obituary
Age 84, of Morningside, on Friday, March 4, 2011. Husband of the late Shirley A. (McDonald) Sand; beloved father of Richard T. Sand, Deborah (Bob) Varasse and Donnie (Michele) Sand; grandfather of Gregory Varasse, David Varasse, Jason Sand, Heather Sand, Richard Sand Jr. and Thomas Sand; son of the late Henry W. Sr. and Marie (Parrot) Sand; brother of Marie Kampman, Margaret King, Veronica Kratt, Audrey Page and the late Eileen Dreibhold; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and Friends received at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, Sunday 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Raphael Church on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Henry was a World War II Navy Veteran and Past Commander of V.F.W. Post #3945.

Richie, Debbie and Donnie my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. I remember your Dad sitting in Mummum and Pappap's livingroom playing the harmonica or doing magic tricks with coins. I also remember the "coodie catcher" he use to make and Kevin being afraid of the bird on his arm.
I hope you take comfort in the fact the he and you mother are together.

Donnie and Michele,
We were so sad to hear of your Father's passing. He was such a nice man and we truly looked forward to seeing him over the holidays. We hope all of the wonderful memories that he gave you throughout your life give you comfort at this time. He was a special man and we will miss him.
