Hank taught me how to be a man. His family treated mine like their own. He is the reason I joined the Marines, fix my own house and go out of my way to help strangers. He gave me his attention, his time and his love.

Laila, I can never thank you enough for being part of my family and including me in yours.

Debbie, Bobby and Gary - thanks for always including me and caring for me too. I’ve never forgotten my childhood with you and know your dad’s influence has carried on through all of you to your beautiful families today.

Hank - You are missed. I was so proud to see you standing with a smile on your face during the Marines Hymn at my retirementI will remember you to then end of my days and hey, let’s just put a little mustard on it.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Schoenlein family in the loss of your husband, father, and grandfather.

I have many fond memories of Uncle Hank including the excellent adventures he would lead those of us from Michigan when we came to visit.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.
