I would run into "Henry from Baltimore" every now and then at a blues show. He was such a delightful man. Rest easy, Henry, rest easy.

Henry danced his way into the hearts of Cincy Blues Fest fans and mine around 2008. He had such a fun energy and was a favorite of all visiting blues entertainers - they all knew him. He's one of those characters you always remember and are glad you got to hang out with.

I met Henry many years ago at a Blues Festival in Wilmington Delaware at the Tubman/Garrett Park. I last saw and talked to Henry last year at a Blues concert in Old Greenbelt MD. It was truly a delight to be in his presence and he was definitely a social butterfly to say the least. Henry was definitely a BLUES AMBASSADOR and he was truly a joy to be around. May GOD bless his soul and his family. He will be missed by many........... Julius of Aberdeen Md

If you attended a live blues music event in the Mid-Atlantic region, chances are that you met / talked to / danced with Henry Tate. Henry is a force of nature and a national treasure. Hard to believe he's gone, but somehow I think his spirit will still be there when we're dancing to the blues. I'm sure he's got a tambourine and egg shaker and is rocking heaven in that heavenly band!
