LOWELL -- Henry J. 'Harry' Thyne, 92, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, September 23, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was born in Lowell on June 6, 1924 and was a son of the late Martin J. and the late Bridget (Crann) Thyne. Harry was born and raised in his family home on Burns Street, and resided on Walnut Street until his passing. He was educated in Lowell and attended St. Peter's Grammar School.

To the Thyne Family --

Please accept my sincere condolence at the loss of Harry. He was a dear friend of my late father, Ray Silva. They went to St. Peter's School together and played baseball together. Harry was my brother, Jim Silva's Godfather. While I have not seen Harry in years, my brother often saw him at Mt. Pleasant. "Out of sight" most definitely did not mean "out of mind." Harry was very dear to us while we were growing up and he was always in our hearts and will remain there forever.
