Henry Troell Obituary
GILMER - Services for Mr. Henry Neil Troell, 72, of Gilmer, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Ezharath officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today, January 19, 2010, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with visitation to follow. Burial will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010, in Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
Mr. Troell was born February 25, 1937, in Poteet, Texas to Arthur Richard Troell and Marguerite Reinhart Troell. He passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010, in Tyler. He served in the U. S. Army Reserve and was the Regional Director for the Department of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Janet Troell of Gilmer; son, Henry Neil Troell II and wife Melissa of Gilmer; five daughters, Pam Clyde and husband Roddy of Round Rock, Anne Malseed of Belton, Mary Ruth Jonse and husband John of Manor, Melinda Schneider and husband Henry of San Ramon, California, and Jennifer Lisanti and husband Michael of Alameda,California; three stepdaughters, Beth Waugh and husband Craig of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Susan Robertson, Christine Krahuluc and husband Jim of Fairfax, Virginia; two brothers, Arthur Troell and wife Patsy of Pleasanton, and Charles Troell and wife D'Ann of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Mary Margaret Ulcak of Bulverde, and Patricia Stevens of Jourdanton; 21 grandchildren, Candace Miller, Laurel, Christine and Matthew Malseed, Brittany and Lindsey Clyde, Alex, Conrad and Jay Jonse, Henry Schneider IV, Mallory Schneider, Zach, Alyssa and Jenna Grace Troell, Mary and Sarah Lisanti, Ethan and Morgan Waugh, Pavan Suresh, Ryan and Connor Krahuluc; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Lorelai Steele.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 31 years, Mary Anne Troell in 1994.
The family requests memorials be made to the St. Theresa Ladies Guild Scholarship or Building Fund.

Henry was a friend who came into my life through softball and soon after the death of my father and the ending of my first marriage. he helped me reengage with life and have fun. i appreciated his presence in my life as i did his wife Janet. It was a loss when they moved and now an even greater loss. I regret that I did not learn of his death till after the funeral. My condolences to his family; he will be missed and remembered.

The Austin Senior Softball Leauge lost a true friend and diplomat. He helped start the leauge and played and managed for many, many years. He will be missed by everyone. Our heart goes out to his family and friends.

We knew Henry through Park Springs Neighborhood Assn., and had great respect for him. He worked with the county and city to help our neighborhood get fair treatment and kept everyone informed on what was happening. His death is a great loss, and our deepest sympathy goes out to Janet and his family.

I met Henry through Park Springs Neighborhood Association. He was an inspiration to me because of his confidence, courage and straight forward nature. He was a natural leader and freely giving of his time to help our community.

We met Henry and Mary Anne when we moved into their rent house in 1991. We got to know them and felt sorta like family because we knew they looked after us. We got married at that old house. We lived there 8 yrs, but Dan was always willing to help Henry with feeding Bully and what ever help he needed. Then we met Janet after Mary Anne's passing. We got to know her as well. Dan and our sons helped them to move to Gilmer and really had a good time with Henry and Janet. We send our thoughts and prayers to Janet and all of the Troell family.

God's blessing on all of you. Henry was my "King" at the Pleasanton Coming Home 2005. We had been out of school 50 years & had such a good time talking about old times. He was always a gentleman & will be missed by all. To you, children, your Dad was a wonderful example. He was fun to be with & always funny. Honor his memory with doing your best.

I would like to extend my condolences to the Troell family. Henry was a true freind. He was such a great support for me after the passing of my Dad, Mr Laverne Guthmiller of Manor in 2005. Henry and I enjoyed tinkering with his equipment at his place and ours on Jones Rd. He will truly be missed!

I spent Christmas a year ago with Janet and Henry up here in Virginia and he was as delightful as always. I know what joy he brought into Janet's heart. My deepest sympathy to her, to his children, and her children. He will be greatly missed by many whose lives he touched.

My husband and myself always enjoyed sitting close to Mr. Troell at the Buckeye Football games. We really do get into the games and so did he. He was alot of fun with his bullhorn. He would hold that bullhorn up and holler GO!GO!GO!. He was a true Buckeye Fan and a friend to all. We will miss him alot. Our condolences to his entire family.

I met Henry only once or twice as we were buying the home across Lockwood Rd. from his. He was most gracious and welcoing of us as his neighbors.
Henry was the moving force of Park Springs Neighborhood Association. He got it started, organized it, and led it for many years.
All of us who live in the Park Springs area of eastern Travis County benefit from Henry's efforts. We enjoy a
better quality of life because of what Henry accomplished on our behalf.
My heartfelt sympathy to his widow, Janet,and the entire family. They deserve to know that we appreciate what he did for us.

Henry was always one of my favorite upper class men in Pleasanton High School. I was glad I had the opportunity to run into him around Austin when we both worked for the Federal Government.

What a legacy he leaves behind. So many children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. After Mary Anne passed away, I was so happy that he found happiness again. Besides being the father of one of my very good friends, he was a good neighbor, especially to Dan & Paulette whom I told about the house next door and they stayed there for years. Your entire family will be in my prayers and may God rest his soul.
