Obituary

Henry Vonasek, 92, Warren, MN, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.
Henry was born on January 23, 1912 to Rudolph and Mary (Gust) Vonasek in rural East Grand Forks, MN. He was raised and attended school in Sullivan Township, Polk County, MN. He married Anna Sirek on October 19, 1937 at Tabor, MN. They made their home in rural Tabor where he farmed. He semi-retired from farming in 1972 and they moved to Warren where he worked for Robertson Lumber Company, American Crystal and the Don Loeslie Farm. He was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church , Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Men's Foresters of Tabor and the Catholic Workman. Henry spent most of his life dedicated to farm work, seldom taking time out to enjoy leisure activities. In the early 1970's, he occasionally would make an enjoyable walleye fishing trip to the Lake of Woods with his family. He is survived by his wife Anna of Warren, MN, three sons; Ralph (Ellen) of Bemidji, MN, LeRoy (Yvonne) of Warren, MN and Stan (Dianne) of Highland Falls, NY, daughter; Judy (Denny) Kuzel of Crookston, MN, seven grandchildren; Todd (Carla) Vonasek, Loren Vonasek, AmyLyn (Kelly) Turgeon, MN, Paula (Mike) Bodell, Darin (Michele) Kuzel, Natalie (Michael) Warner and Heather Vonasek, nine great-grandchildren, three sisters; Emily (Joseph) Brda of St. Cloud, MN, Helen Novak and Elsie Marek both of East Grand Forks, MN, brother, Leonard (Martha) of East Grand Forks, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brother-in-laws. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Warren, MN. VISITATON: After 5:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Warren and one hour before services at the church on Monday. So sorry to see that Henry passed away. I will always remember him as a very kind and interesting neighbor on "North Seventh". I'm very sorry I am out of town and unable to be at the funeral. Our condolences to the family.

We extend our condolences to the family. It was only last month, when we were in Warren for a short visit, that we learned that Henry was in the Good Sam. Henry and Ann were kind and considerate neighbors.
