One of my fondest memories of Henry is Christmas 2013. It was a joyful time filled with laughter and warmth. Surrounded by Elisabeth, Desiree with Jim, and his beloved grandchildren Olivia and Sam, Henry´s happiness was unmistakable.
Another moment I will always remember is the helicopter flight over Milwaukee. Seeing the city from above with my American family was truly special and unforgettable.
I will remember Henry for his kindness, optimism, and the gentle way he brought people together. We would sometimes exchange a few words in German, which always brought a smile.
Henry, es war mir eine Ehre!
Danke für die schönen Zeit - ich werde dich für immer als mein amerikanischer Opa in Erinnerung behalten. Eines Tages werden wir uns wiedersehen

Henry was a great man. He had been through a lot during his service for his country and was very open about sharing his experience. He was always very welcoming when we would come over to help clean up the yard for them. My prayers are with Elisabeth and we will meet him again with Jesus.
