I met Herb in the spring of 1980. I remember him as a handsome, man with beautiful blue eyes that sparkled when He laughed, which was often! I moved back to the east coast and from time to time we would speak on the phone. I had lost touch with Herb about 2000. I know I am ok 11 years late. he left his mark on me as a. special person . I was honored to call him my friend

I'm saddened to hear of Herb's passing. I have such fond memories of Herb at Sutter Lawn swim meets, rooting for his kids with unmatched enthusiasm and (always) that giant smile on his face. You are all in my prayers during this difficult time.

Pat and Family.
There are just not the right words to convey how sad I am for you and your family. Everyone loved 'Herbie" and you said it best, "there will be such a void without him". He always made us smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We loved him most for the way he loved you.

Love,

Herb was a man who could "talk the talk" only because he could "walk the walk". I'm going to miss that confidence big heart. He was a true Renaissance Man. God Bless you Herb

I think of Herb and smile because I never saw him without one...

He would often drive down Regina Way when the boys and I were out in the front yard playing ball. Every single time he would slow down his car, flash his contageous smile and give us a heartfelt "thumbs up." In those brief exchanges my boys felt like sports heroes. We will all miss that ritual.

Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Pat, Kristen & the whole Jackson Family,

Thinking of you during this difficult time. I'll
always remember Herb as a man who celebrated
life. You could see in his eyes the love he had for you Pat, and his family. What an amazing man!
My favorite Herb quote:
"Let's get some personality!"

I first met Herb in the spring of 1953 when we sat next each other in a Physics class at Sacramento City College. Both becoming lawyers in the early 60's, our paths crossed often though we were seldom adversaries. Herb was a fine lawyer, a good friend and fine athlete as a young man and later in life as well. His hearty laughs, sense of humor, constant flow of email messages and friendship are going to be missed by many including me. Helene and I send our best wishes to the surviving family. God Bless you in this time of grief.

We love you, Herbie

Patti and family,

There are no words to express how deeply felt the loss of this wonderful man will be felt by you, your family and all Herbs friends. His laugh, his love of life and his genuine affection for people brought much joy to all who knew him. His forthright approach and sometimes, blunt honesty in his law practice proved to be my rock more than once. Please know our love is with you now. Dick and Kaye

Thank you for being a big brother to me and for being the world's greatest partner. No one could have, or would have, been any more generous than you were when Drew was born and we became equal partners 11 months early. And, Drew still has the little stuffed baseball, football, and basketball you brought out to the house a week or so after he was born...truly a portent of things that were to come in his following 20 years. With all love, Wheats.
