Special thanks to Dr. Chris McEachern of the Ottawa Hospital for his patient and compassionate care of Herb and the entire family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in Herb's memory, please consider the Kiwanis Club of Manotick. Herb was a charter member and was a proud supporter of community initiatives.

Dear Marilyn and family,
We are so saddened to hear of Herb's passing. It seems he was always a part of our lives, as a community leader through Kiwanis, a business icon through Home Hardware, and of course as a friend of our parents, but also a friend to all of us kids. Be assured he will be remembered with much fondness and respect.... no, much more than that....he will be remembered with many happy, fun filled party times, by all of us.....a totally great guy who was happy to make us all feel like we were the most special people in the world. Manotick has lost a true ambassador of the best kind.

Marilyn, Hal, Lynne and Neil,
I'm so sorry to hear of Herb's passing. He was a great boss and mentor and certainly taught me a lot throughout my time at Home Hardware.
He was a great story teller, an honest and wise business man, a true family man and a community leader. I'll miss his wisdom, his wonderful sense of humour and his terrific stories of life in Eganville and the early days in Manotick.
RIP Herb.

I am sorry to read about the passing of Herb. I was extremely fortunate to have Herb and Marilyn as my first bosses for my first real job at Home Hardware during my high school years. Along with Art Moore, both Herb and Marilyn were so good to me during those years. I was able to work with Hal and Lynne at that time as well. It was nice to catch up with the family at the ball tournaments in August. Your entire family has shown tremendous courage in all of the challenges you have faced. I will always remember Herb as a kind, hardworking, cheerful man. Rest in peace Herb and God bless your family.
