Herbert L. 'Herbie' Morris
ALLENTOWN
Herbert L. "Herbie" Morris, 85, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his home at Lake Wallenpaupack.
Born December 26, 1934, in Martins Creek, PA, he was the son of the late Wilson Morris Sr., and Catharine (Hess) Morris.
He and his wife, Vicki L. (Miller) Werkheiser Morris, celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary on September 24, 2020.
He retired in 1991 from Mack Trucks where he was employed for 26 years.
Herbie enjoyed skiing.
He was a life member of Mack Ski Club and volunteered for many years for the Lehigh County Special Olympics skiing program. He was also a member of various social clubs in the Easton area.
In addition to his wife, Vicki, he is survived by a son, John W. Morris, of Walnutport; three daughters, Darlene Allshouse, of Coplay, Cindy Pursel and her husband Tom, of Palmer Township, and Jean Hoyd and her husband Robert, of Pohatcong Township, NJ; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased two sisters, Kathryn Sebring and Phyllis Searfoss, and two brothers, Wilson Morris, Jr. and Ralph Morris.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Rd., Palmer Township. The Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough, is in charge of arrangements. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
