Our deepest sympathy to Herb's family! He was very respected and cherished colleague, and we enjoyed our interactions with him at conferences and his leadership at the II-VI Workshop. This is very sad news.

My sincere sympathy to Herb's family. I worked with Herb many years ago at Texas Instruments in the Central Research Laboratories. He was a wonderful person and a joy to be around. I worked as the Secretary to the Vice President, Bob Stratton but had also worked with him directly when I was working as an admin in one of the Laboratories.
Thoughts and prayers are with you. Regards, Carol Vernon

Jean and Christopher,
I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your beloved husband and father. Jean, I always admired the way you spoke to each other. You were so incredibly kind with each other. You called him "Angel," and I thought that was the sweetest thing I'd ever heard. I know how much you loved and cherished your sweet husband. I am praying for all of you at this time and ask that God comfort and heal your heart.
