I was so sorry to learn of Herman's passing. My deepest condolences to Margie. She'll probably remember me as a cousin who was once married to one of her brothers. May our Lord wrap his loving arms around all of the family.

Herman was one of the finest men I have ever known. My family has run the Salem Golf Course for over 40 years and Herman played there, worked with us there , and we enjoyed his company very much. I am saddened by his passing but as a Christian I am comforted knowing that his reward is at hand and we shall meet again some day. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family during this time.

My heart is filled with sorrow at the passing of Herman. I am blessed for having known him and Marge. God certainly blessed the two of them with selflessness, hope, trust and courage. May His comfort envelope Marge and all the family in this difficult time. Love and prayers, Anne Lavery

As a class mate of Herman's, I have good memories of him. Once he rode his horse from Stewartsville to Chamblissburg on a Sunday afternoon to visit me. He was a real gentleman. My deep sympathy to all his family. May God comfort each one.

My heart is broken knowing I wont get to hug PawPaw anymore and hear him whisper in my ear how he loves his Little Steph, but I am so thankful that I was blessed to have all the time and memories that I did with him. I am so glad he got to meet his great granddaughter Hannah, and I will make sure to tell her about her great PawPaw and how much fun he was. I know he is in heaven at peace and no longer suffering, having deep conversations with God and looking down on us and smiling. Although he will be missed greatly, I take so much comfort knowing that he is in heaven and he is finally home.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with such a loving dad and a great friend. My dad taught me a lot in life but most of all until the end, he showed me that no matter what is happening in your life to remember to give our Lord and Savior all Praise and Glory.

I always enjoyed hearing Herman's stories when he was growing up and playing golf with him at Salem Golf Course. Herman would give you the shirt off his back if you needed help and he loved helping at SGC with the greens. He will be missed by the SGC family.
