Herm and I met when we were both transferred to Oregon by Chevron. We always worked hard and played just as hard whether it was golfing with Joe or cutting firewood with Bob. We had a great time and I will always remember Herm fondly.

I met Herman in Fresno California, 1973. I agree with comments below, he was a likeable cuss. We became close due to his love of golf. I had played maybe three times before we started playing every Saturday morning. Just a few short years later, it was Herm, Bill Bienapfl, and myself. What a great time it was and how much I looked forward to our outings.
I will miss my friend and thank God for placing me in Herm´s life.
My condolences to Carole and family.

So sorry Carole, Kelly and his family to read of Herman's passing. He was a
character that Larry and I both enjoyed being around. A great guy and friend, on and off the golf course and travel companion. We enjoyed our cruise and eating dungeness crab on Christmas eve.

The first time I met Herman, he asked me my name and said, "You aren´t the girl that was here with Kelly last night!" He loved to poke fun.
Herman greeted everyone with a positive attitude. He was delighted to see everyone he met and made you believe today was the best day ever. I loved listening to his stories and watching him with his son debating and discussing. He seemed to love a challenge and in depth conversation.
I will miss his little comments that I pray will stay in my mind: "Hey Kid, Alright!, Good Show" just to name a few. He will be missed immensely. We love you Herm, can´t wait to meet you again in Heaven.
1 Thess 4:13-14 "And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died." Romans 10:9 "If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Herman always met me with a giant hug and a huge smile on his face. I will always remember the warmth he brought with just his presence. And his incredible skill of making everyone feel SO cared about. He had the memory of an elephant and could remember the smallest details I would tell him the last time I saw him. And he always was so excited to hear about what was new since the last time. He will be dearly missed and I know he is cheering all of his loved ones on with Kim under his arm
