I extend my deepest sympathy to the Heyl family. He was a family friend to my family, the Rabold's who owned the bakery across the street on Warrington Ave. I spoke with Herman many times on the phone after I moved to Iowa. And I remember the last in person visit I had with him when I came to buy flowers for my mom. He was a special man, who was dedicated to his profession and his family and I will always remember his smile and humor. He will be greatly missed by all you had the pleasure of knowing him.

To the Heyl Family,
We were so shocked and sorry to hear of
Herman's passing. He did our wedding flowers
back in 2006 and they were of excellent quality
and beautiful! We had the pleasure of talking
to Herman many times when we went to St. Teresa
of Avila Church and was always so pleasant to
talk to..
We pray that you will be consoled at the
difficult time by knowing he is resting in the
arms of the Lord now.
With our sincere sympathy,
Lorraine & Walt Grabel

Please accept my sincerest condolences. Herman was not only a fantastic floristthe best- but a wonderful human being. That smile says it all and I've never know him not to have that.
Growing up in Allentown and St George's being our parish, there has never been a Schmitt Life Event that wasn't handled by Herman.

When my 1st husband passed, he took the time to arrange deer antlers and found beautiful wild flowers to make the special casket arrangement. Most recently he had not only decorated my wedding cake (2nd but he also did the 1st in 1969) with live red tulips, but also my bouquet with my mom's rhinestone pins. always a special touch
Such a kind, warm, gentle, caring friend who will be missed by all. ❤

Dear Heyl Family,
I worked at Bell Telephone in Allentown and have fond memories of Herman and Mr. Heyl. Almost 55 years ago Herman did all the flowers for my wedding and did a wonderful job. Over the years I was a happy customer of his flower shop. Jane went to St. Joseph High School at the same time I was there. You have my sincere sympathy on your loss. Herman was a good guy and always had a smile for everyone.
God Bless you and give you strength. Rest in Peace Herman.
Sincerely

Mr Heyl was a wonderful, generous benefactor to the Little Sisters of the Poor. He was a simple, humble but great person. We are grateful for all he has done for the Little Sisters of the Poor. It was a great honor for me to know him during the 9 years I lived in Pittsburgh! It was also an honor to have met his Mother! Please know that you have a saint in your family! He will always be in our prayers! All of you will also always be in our prayers! God bless each of you!
