Herman G. Pease 1929 - 2017
NEW HARTFORD - Herman G. Pease, age 87, of New Hartford, NY, formerly of Whitesboro, NY, died January 10th, 2017, at the Faxton St. Luke's Hospital in Utica, NY.
He was born September 4, 1929, in Cobleskill, NY, the son of Donald Pease and Candice (Poppensiek) Pease.
Herm attended the former Cobleskill Central School, graduating in the class of 1947. Herm earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1952 and his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University in 1960. Following his graduation from Cornell, Herm worked for General Electric, performing design, development and management of various defense electronics projects such as airborne early warning radar systems used throughout the Cold War era. After his retirement in 1991, he enjoyed consulting engineering until 2006.
Herm married his kindergarten classmate, Helen (Morlang), on July 12, 1952. He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Dr. Deborah Waldrop (Brian), of East Amherst, NY, and son, David (Joanne), of Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Matthew, Benjamin, Jeffrey and Kristen; sister, Gretchen Pease; and brother, Donald Pease. Herm is affectionately remembered for his love of his wife and family, work and travel, and approaching things "one step at a time".
