Herman C. Thomas Sr.

Herman C. Thomas, Sr., passed away on January 13, 2021 at the age of 88. Herman is survived by his devoted wife Josephine Sterling-Thomas, eight children, Herman C. Thomas, Jr., Linda Butler, Sandra Hickman, Ralph J. Thomas, Kevin J. Thomas, Debra Tyler, Gregory Thomas and Lance D. Thomas; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister Leola Hicks, one brother-in-law Leonard Theyard, Jr., one sister-in-law Delores Thomas (Long Beach, CA) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Lelia Nichols and Joseph Thomas, his first wife Shirley Theyard-Thomas, mother-in-law Ethel Theyard-Daggs and two brothers Aaron Hill and Clinton Thomas. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, family members of the deceased are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 for 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Fourth Baptist Church, 2130 Perdido Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Robert Turner, Sr. officiating. Social distancing and face coverings are mandatory.
