To his family and dearest friends, I am so sorry for your loss.
I am so glad to have known Herman and to have been a Brother with him in the Knights of Columbus. He was the first person I met at St. Mary Church, Newport, when I attended my first Mass the weekend we moved into the area. Herman was at the front door holding it open and he welcomed me.
