Herndon F. Williams, 87, died April 22, 2009, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach. He was born in Florence, S.C., and lived in Vero Beach since 1980, coming from Brevard, N.C. Before retirement, he had a 30-year career in the Air Force, serving during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars, leaving as a colonel. He was past president of the Realtors Association of Indian River County and Indian River Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America and served on the Indian River County Economic Development and the Land Acquisition Advisory committees. He attended Clemson College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the National War College in Washington, D.C. He held a master's degree in international relations from George Washington University. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 6230 77th St., Vero Beach, FL 32967. Survivors include his wife, Sara D. Williams of Vero Beach. SERVICES: No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
