Hillery Parrack

Loveland resident Hillery Parrack, formerly of Estes Park, died at McKee Hospice in Loveland on Sunday, January 18, 2009 after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 66 years old. Hillery Arthur Parrack was born June 24, 1942 in Quincy, IL. His parents were Galen and Rosalthea (Stipe) Parrack, Sr. Hillery graduated from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and economics. Hillery attended officer's training then served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war as an officer aboard the USS Everett F. Larson. He married Karen Doughty on June 14, 1969 in Quincy, IL. They moved to Estes Park, CO in 1969. In 1972 he started Hillery Parrack Builders and ran the business until June 2005 when he moved to Loveland, CO. He was a member of the Community Church of the Rockies where he built the outdoor chapel columbarium shelter. He also served as an elder and deacon. He built the United Methodist church in Estes Park; the Family Medical Center, now the Estes Park Medical Center Specialty Clinic; Elkhorn West and was the builder of many fine homes in the Estes Park area. Hillery was a member of the Rotary Club of Estes Park for 12 years from 1976-1988. Hillery is survived by his wife Karen Parrack of Loveland, CO; a son, Nathan Parrack of Estes Park, CO; daughters Robin Arnold and husband Richard of Kansas City, MO and Kathryn Slage and husband Dan of Orlando, FL; brothers Galen Marion Parrack, Jr. of Quincy, IL and Gregory Lester and wife Deborah of Estes Park, CO; sister Beverly Mitchell and husband Derrell "Mitch" of Estes Park, CO; grandchildren Anna Slage, Stephanie Arnold and Timothy Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church, 400 E. 4th Street, Loveland, CO.
