Hilmar Helstad

Hilmar HELSTAD Born September 15, 1912 in Stranda, Norway - went home to be with his Lord on March 30, 2005. Hilmar and his wife, Gunvor, moved to Seattle with their two children in 1954 and Hilmar worked in construction until retirement. The couple lost their son Harry in 1999. In addition to his loving wife, Gunvor, survivors include Harry's widow, Judy, and their two children, Janna and D.J.; and Grete and her husband, Doug Carlson, and their daughters, Katie and Jennifer. He had many relatives in the US and in Norway. Hilmar died at home and his family is grateful for the loving care provided by Group Health Hospice. Graveside Service will be at Pacific Lutheran Garden, Washelli Cemetery, 10:30 a.m. and a Memorial Service will be held at Rock of Ages Church, 316 N. 70th Street, Seattle, 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests tsunami relief or gifts to the Rock of Ages Mission Fund.
