QUINONES – Hiram Noel, 87, East Taylor Township, passed away April 12, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 6, 1923, in Puerto Rico, son of Demetrio and Carmen (Abril) Quinones. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Joyce M. (Campbell) Quinones; and son, Hiram N. Quinones Jr. Survived by his loving son, Robert Quinones, Ebensburg; two grandchildren; cousins, Iris Del Valle, Brooklyn, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Vinny Hillegas, Cover Hill; and Vicky (Richard) Gonda, Hornerstown. Hiram was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He retired from the Luggage Worker's Union, New York, N.Y., where he was employed as a luggage maker. Member of Fountain of Life Fellowship. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus, Brooklyn, N.Y. Hiram enjoyed planting his flowers every spring and riding his scooter. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, the Rev. John F. Mains, officiating. Internment, Headrick Union Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. Memorial contributions may be directed to Fountain of Life Fellowship, 225 Second St., Conemaugh, Pa. 15909, in memory of Hiram.
