Holly Danehower Obituary

Holly Danehower
October 27, 1938-October 26, 2022
On October 26, 2022, Helen Nesbitt Danehower, born Helen Elizabeth Nesbitt, and known by friends and family as Holly, crossed the threshold of death after months of struggle with dementia and its complications. She died in Stamford at Edgehill Community, where she lived with her beloved husband of 58 years, Dr. Richard Lloyd Danehower. Holly died one day short of her 84th birthday.
She was born and raised on the little island of Brigantine, New Jersey, to Florence Frees Nesbitt and Robert Nesbitt Jr. She had an older brother, Robert Nesbitt III. She leaves behind her husband and their three children, David Danehower, Paul Danehower, and Laura Danehower Whyte, and two granddaughters, Pia Whyte and Chloe Whyte, and a step-granddaughter, Anya.
Holly will be remembered by her adoring family and friends as a deeply beautiful, generous, creative and artistic mother, homemaker, wife and loyal friend. She was passionate about animals, gardening, flowers, needle and craft work, classical music, hikes in nature, adventure travel, cooking and conversation, style and design, holidays and her family. All of these she pursued with elegance and abundant love. Having attended Oberlin College and graduated from the Manhattan School of Music, she was a fine violinist as a young woman, and had a beautiful singing voice. She designed and beautifully remodeled her own house several times. Rather an introvert, she also had an endearing feisty, playful and flamboyant streak. Holly will be dearly missed by her loved ones. A private gathering to honor her life will be held at the family home.

Dear Dickie, Laura, Paul and David
So saddened to hear of Hollys passing. I'll always
remember seeing her in the "chart room" after she
snuck in thru the back door of the office!!
She was a great gal and will be missed.
Deepest sympathy and love from Lucy and Ed Ingram
