Holly Jo Devers

Holly affectionately called me "Mama Ford" during our time in the Navy as I was much older. We reconnected after her diagnosis and I drove to Louisiana from Illinois to see her. We had the most amazing time and I met her girls. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I met Holly in the Navy and became "Momma Ford" & yes I felt very protective and motherly. When I spoke to Holly prior to her first transplant, I instantly drove from Illinois to Louisiana. There was not a second thought. I'm so glad I have another Angel to watch over me! May the family take comfort in knowing how loved she will always be to those who knew her.

On behalf of Louisiana Women Veterans, we would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Holly Jo Devers, U.S. Navy Veteran. Here is a poem that we honor our women of military with at their passing:

She is a woman veteran
Whose service was true
She proudly served
The Red, White and Blue

She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
And without any hesitation
She joined unselfishly

She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside

That although she is gone
She goes on to glory
After a job "well done!"

I had the honor of being a dance mom with her a few years back. Our girls took dance together at Susan's . She was the fun mom I looked forward to catching up with each week. She always had her hands full with those beautiful girls. The youngest was quite an entertainer as I remember. So sad to hear of this loss.. Praying for her girls and hoping our paths cross again so I can hug them!

May God be your strength in this time of sorrow Matthew 5:4 "Happy are those who mourn since they will be comforted."

Served with Holly in the Navy. Good times and good memories. I will never forget her. Good thoughts to the girls and family..

Although I never met Holly, it always saddens me when we lose a LAM sister. Sending prayers for peace & comfort to Holly's family.

I never met Holly Jo, but grew to know her through Sarah Demaret. She was a sweet and loving friend to my niece and was loved by many. Prayers for her family and friends.

Holly with her infectious smile! Had some great times back in the day!!! Praying for comfort for all family and friends.

My heart and prayers are with you and your family...

I met Holly when we worked together in Shreveport as Landmen. We had numerous dinners at her house and even had her at ours for a weekend in Baton Rouge. She was such a sweet person and always a ton of fun to be around. She will be greatly missed. Prayers go out to her three girls who she loved so much and her family.

My deepest condolences to the Devers family. During difficult times like these I like to keep in mind what is promised to us by Jehovah our God at Ezekiel 34:16 "The lost one I will search for, the stray I will bring back, the injured I will bandage." Any of the pain we feel, Jehovah God promises to bandage and help us be okay.

I am so sorry to hear this about Holly. When I babysat her as a little girl, I could tell she would grow up to have a huge heart full of compassion for others . As I read all the other messages, I can see that is true. I know you will all miss her terribly. May you be comforted in your time of grief in knowing you will be together again. Much love sent your way.

I am so sorry to hear about Holly. I will always remember her sweet beautiful smile. She baby sat for me several times my daughter talked about her constantly after each stay. She will be truly missed. My prayers go out to her family.

I loved when my cousins, Holly and DeeDee would visit us in Iowa in the summers. I will always remember holly's smile, humor and laughter. Grandma and Grandpa are hugging her right now in heaven. She will be missed!

You will be missed by many that loved and cared for you. Your laughter will always remain in my mind and the fun of the pool party and riding the tricycle in the kitchen. So many other fun times to list. I pray you are at peace and many prayers for your family. Much love

I served with HollyJo in the Navy. She always had such a positive energy about her, she always had a way of brightening any situation. I loved her cute country accent and her contagious laugh. She will be greatly missed but I know I will see her again one day.

Paying for Holly's family, friends, and basically all who knew her and were touched by her special talents. There will be much celebrating in heaven when we see her again!!!

Holly was a very dear friend to me while we served together in the Navy. We got into all sorts of shenanigans. She will be missed!

I met Holly when we both were employed as landmen for a company in Shreveport. Enjoyed the time I spent with her on this job. I got to meet those wonderful girls that she never stopped talking about. She will be missed. My prayers are for your family to find peace in the days ahead.

Holly was the retail clerk that you visited with while you shopped and caught up years later when you ran into her elsewhere. Few people are blessed with such a wonderful personality. My day was always made better by her big smile and kind ways. I offer my sincerest condolences to her family. She was a precious person and she will be missed. Praying for her family.

Holly always had a smile for me, always made me feel like she was so happy to see me. She was definitely a genuine loving soul and she will be missed. My heart breaks for her girls and family. I have been blessed to call her my friend.

Never had the pleasure of meeting this sweet and beautiful lady but I would bet she would be over the rainbow with her daughters memorial and obituary to her. The words written made an impression on this stranger and I pray their hearts be happy with the great memories they must have.
