Holly R. Martin

Holly R. Martin, aged 68, passed away on July 17th, 2024 in Dayton, OH. Born on July 16th, 1956, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Holly was a beacon of kindness and generosity, touching lives through her music, care for her community, and many friendships.

Holly was a beloved elementary teacher who taught many years with Dayton Public Schools and Kettering City Schools. Following her retirement, she continued to serve children as a Sunday school teacher, working with children's ministries, and teaching piano. Holly was also an active volunteer with many charitable organizations around the Dayton area including 4 Paws for Ability and the Dayton Traveling Children's Opera.

Holly has been a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton for over 30 years, where her faith found expression in both her personal life and her community involvement. She served multiple terms as a church deacon loving and supporting her congregation. Additionally, her commitment to music shone brightly as a longtime member of the Westminster Choir and as the musical director for the children's Genesis Choir.

Holly was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Edythe (Benson) Martin and is survived by her sister, Carol Martin of Queens, NY and Holly's beloved dachshund, Annie Laurel.

A service and celebration of life will be held on August 3rd, at 10 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 125 N. Wilkinson Street, Dayton, OH. For those unable to attend in person, a Livestream of the service will be available through the church's website at www.westminsterdayton.com.
