I will always remember seeing Marie often .
I have a photo with her and my mother at the Inn Place a long vanished eatery in Ocean Grove
NJ Marie was dining near us at a musical event and we were all singing along with the artists from different musicals
She admired my singing voice and told me so.
It was one of my greatest memories of her.
We also served on the 300th Birthday of Newark Committee together
I admired a photo of her with Jackie Kennedy and Caroline at an event at Symphony Hall which hung in her office in Newark´s City Hall
    Rest in Peace Marie

I have fond memories of Marie from my days working at JALM boutique which she would often frequent. I saw her a few years ago as well , she taught me so much about confidence and public speaking. May she rest in peace.

Impeccable fashion and very friendly; it was always a pleasant occasion to meet and greet Newark's first female council member.
Condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in
peace and in God's care.

Marie Villani added another dimension to the Newark City Council. In addition to being the first female member, she dressed to the nines, reached out to women and helped them to be unafraid to grow. I remember her as the aunt of my dear and departed friend, Anthony Spadone. He adored his aunt, and she loved him in return. Marie is gone, but she will not be forgotten. Did somebody say style and grace?
My deepest sympathy to her loved ones.
