Horace Lowery age 71, of Florala passed away Sunday August 16, 2020. He was born July 19, 1949 in Milton, Florida to W.L. Lowery and Alice Freeman Lowery. Horace worked as an mechanic all of his life until ill health forced his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter spending countless hour in the lakes, ponds, fields and woods of south Alabama and this area hunting white tailed deer and catching large mouth bass. Horace also enjoyed watching football with his daughter, Bridget. However, nothing was more important to him as his family. Horace loved spending time with grandchildren especially Matt. He was preceded in death by wife, Sherry Marie Lowery; father, W.L. Lowery; mother, Alice Freeman Lowery; brothers, Daniel and Harvey Lee Lowery; sister, Mary Weeks.
He is survived by sons, Terry Lowery and wife Sandy and Wiley Lowery, daughters, Diane Thomas and husband Rodger and Bridget Lowery, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He love being their Horace T.
Funeral services for Horace Lowery will be 10AM Wednesday August 19, 2020 at Smyrna Baptist Church with Dewey Elmore and DeWayne Norris officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday starting at 1PM at Smyrna Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.

I love you more than anything grandaddy and it's hard to believe that you are no longer with us but we know your are with your beautiful wife looking down on us as the days come I know you are rejoicing with the lord and living it up behind those pearly gates! I love you so much and can't wait for the day we are all reunited

Horace has been in my life near about all my life even before he married my sister. He's like one of my brothers. I'll truly miss him.
