Horace Shipp Jr. Obituary
He is survived by his brother, Walter R. Shipp, and sister-in-law, Thrya Denise Shipp of Satellite Beach, Florida; his sister, Jacquelyn Shipp Belt of Connecticut; as well as a great-niece and great-nephew in Connecticut.
A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Rickey graduated from New Stanton Senior High School and attended Edward Waters College. Music was his passion and calling throughout his life. A talented guitarist, he toured with a popular R&B artist and wrote and published music. His contributions to the music world are preserved in his discography, which can be viewed on Discogs.com.
Rickey's faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found joy in playing music with fellow musicians at various churches in the Jacksonville area. His quiet demeanor and dedication to his craft left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the musical community he cherished so much. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
