I played golf often with Howard during my time in Freeport and my 4 years at Bahama Reef! I was club Champion in 1972 and the first Freeporter to play Hoerman Cup but rarely bested Howard. He was a gentleman and a hell of a golfer!

You were a great man ... and a good friend. You inspired me more than you will ever know. You recognized my true potential on the golf course. I never saw you treat anyone unfairly nor did I ever hear you speak ill-will about anyone. When you told me that you were leaving Miami to go back home, I knew that it was the best thing for you to do. We lost contact, but I never stopped thinking or asking about you my friend. I will miss you.

My Name is Zevenia Davis from the USA. Howard was a very good man and a father like figure to my brother and my sisters during his stay here in the USA. He taught us a lot of wisdom, knowledge and understanding and best of all, how to be strong and never give up. During that time my own father was out of the picture having no contact with his children but in my eyes Howard was and will always be my second father. He had a lot of love and kindness toward my siblings and I, and i thank God for his presence. without Howard I didn't know if I could carry on. May he rest in peace in God's bosom Amen. Love Always from Zevenia Davis.
